Cowboy Boots

Grandma and Grandpa Tuggle got all three kids cowboy boots for Christmas. My Mom gave me her vintage pair of cowgirl boots a few years ago, so we all decided to wear our boots to church today. (We are all set to visit Nana and Pop-pop in Texas!)
We decided that Evelyn needed a picture too...25 weeks!

Snow Pants!

Elijah finally got to wear his new snow pants to school today! It was hilarious because he could barely get on the bus. I had to lift him up onto the first step!

Embry Elizabeth Coffman

The other day Emme and I were talking about why the Tuggles have a different name than we do. I told her about how my last name was Tuggle until I married Daddy and then I changed it to Coffman. She then informed me "I not getting married! I not letting some MAN take away my name. I always gonna be Embry Elizabeth Coffman!" Oh, Emme! I truly wonder where she gets this stuff.

Sick Little Emmers

I took Emme to the doctor today because she woke up with a cough this morning that worried Dustin and I.  Poor Emme! She has a severe double ear infection and congestion in her chest that has settled in her lungs. The doctor is treating her with antibiotics for Whooping Cough.  They are going to run a test, and if it is positive we will all be quarantined for a day or two and put on antibiotics. Fun! Emme also got an inhaler to help with the wheezing in her lungs. More than likely she will need this throughout the Fall and Winter. The doctor said to expect no more than a 50% improvement in the next 5 days, and a full recovery no sooner than 10 to 14 days. I think the craziest thing is that Emme didn't even act sick until yesterday morning. I feel like she got really sick really fast. Hopefully, no one else will get sick and Emme will get better quickly.

It's a Girl!

Baby Girl is growing nicely. After a small start she has grown to be in the normal range for her age, and she is still due to arrive April 14th. We are all very excited to meet her!

Elijah's Family Tree

This was just too cute to not share. Elijah drew little pictures of all of us on his Family Tree in Primary on Sunday. He even included the baby, who was just "baby" because he doesn't know what the new baby looks like. Elijah, and the rest of us are very excited to be able to see the baby in an ultrasound on Monday.

3 Little Turkeys

Elijah had an assignment at school to decorate/disguise a turkey, so that it would be saved from Thanksgiving. Emme and Gideon wanted in on the action too. Emme made a Tangled Turkey and Gideon made a colorful Turkey. Elijah disguised his Turkey as a Stegosaurus Turkey.

Blessings

The last few weeks our family has been very blessed. We are expecting our fourth baby in April. I am so grateful for a healthy and successful pregnancy so far. I am always very anxious/nervous at the beginning of my pregnancies, so it is very comforting that I have gotten through the first 18 weeks quite easily. It is very fun to hear the kids talk about the baby and to see how excited they are to be having another brother or sister. Even though the baby isn't here yet, it is already a great blessing to our family.
The kids have been pretty sick for the last two months. When one gets better, another gets sick. It has been quite the expensive and tiring experience. I am grateful for a good doctor who knows my kids individually, and who has been able to get them all feeling better. Thankfully, we have had a whole week with no one sick! Hopefully, we can keep this up.
Gideon gave us quite a scare when he had a seizure from a high fever spike. Seeing my happy little baby in such a state was awful. The amazing thing was that I have never in my life felt so comforted and loved. I could feel Heavenly Father's love for Gideon so strongly. I knew that Gideon was being taken care of and that he would be okay.
I am so grateful for the Holy Ghost in my life and for the promptings that He can give to me for myself and for my family. Last night we put all of the kids to bed around 6:30, usually Gideon is the first asleep and then we don't hear from him until 6 the next morning. Last night he was fussy in his bed, he just wouldn't settle down. Around 8:30 he starting calling for me and crying. When I went up to check on him I noticed that the kids rooms smelled really bad like onions. I calmed Gideon down and came back downstairs to finish the show Dustin and I were watching. I felt a strong urge to go and check the laundry. Thankfully, I listened to that still small voice. The laundry room smelled very strongly of onions and there was a loud hissing sound coming from behind the dryer. We had a gas leak, not more than a few feet from our furnace. Dustin was able to turn off the gas for the night, and once the windows were opened the gas dissipated quickly. It very much scares me to think what would have or could have happened if I hadn't checked the laundry room before bed.
I  am so glad that I have the gospel in my life, and that I know that Heavenly Father loves me and my family. I am so blessed to have the Holy Ghost in my life.

Thanks Dad!

The other day on Facebook I came across this link www.fromdatestodiapers.com/50-rules-for-dads-of-daughters, it made me think of my Dad and how our relationship has both changed and stayed the same over the years. I can honestly say, that my Dad has both accomplished and continues to accomplish all 50 of these rules! Thanks Dad, I love you!

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy birthday to my Mom! Thank you for being an awesome mom. You and Dad ensured that I had an amazing childhood. I will always remember your silly songs, made up words and the trips to Claire's. Now that I am a mom myself, I think that I have a greater understanding of all the hard work and sacrifice that you put into Erin and I. Thank you!  Now, I get to see you as a grandma. And you are amazing. To quote Wreck-it- Ralph..."because if that little girl likes me, how bad can I be." I truly believe that dogs and kids are the best judges of character...and my kids love you! So..you are more than okay in our minds! Lol Love you Mom!

Elijah's Pumpkin

We were late carving Elijah's pumpkin this year. Between everyone being sick and Dustin working some later hours, we finally carved Elijah's pumpkin on Halloween. Elijah and I scraped out the guts, which is a big deal for me seeing as how I HATE pumpkins of any kind. But I love Elijah, so on an empty stomach I sucked it up and did what needed to be done! Elijah drew the face on his pumpkin and then thankfully Dustin came home in time to carve it out. And poof! a Jack-o-lantern! Elijah did a great job!

Lil' Stinker

It was rainy and cold this morning, so I decided to leave the two little ones home while I ran Elijah to the bus. I was gone a total of 3-4 minutes, and this is what I came home to. Gideon decided to dump out and then dance on an entire box of cereal! Not cool man, not cool!

My Little Adult

Elijah has always been very mature for his age. I am so used to him being a little adult, that I think that I just expect him to act a certain way. But sometimes he still surprises me. This last weekend we went down to Illinois without Dustin. On Friday morning Dustin left for work, and I started doing the last minute scrambles to get all of the last minute stuff packed and loaded into the Tahoe. While I was in the shower Elijah came to the door and informed me that he was "taking the little ones downstairs and getting them bagels." When I came downstairs, I saw much to my surprise that he done just that. He had even toasted the bagels for them, and he had gotten them milk from the fridge! Since he had the younger two occupied I started bringing bags downstairs. Everytime I came down with a new load Elijah would talk to himself and then take the bags and sort them into piles of what he thought needed to go out first. By the time I had everything downstairs, he had everything sorted and piled at the front door. The whole scene was identical to what Dustin does, right down to the talking to himself. Elijah then informed me that he would get his coat on and help me take it all outside. About 20 minutes into the drive Elijah called to me from his perch in the back, and let me know since Dad wasn't here, he was going to help me with everything. While we were at my parents house he was a very good big brother, and he helped a lot with the little ones. Elijah helped me pack and sort everything again, when it was time to go home. He didn't want to let me take things out to the car, because I was a girl. He, Allen and Grandpa could do it for me.
The whole weekend made me realize how much Elijah is like his Daddy. They both are always willing to step up and help. I am glad that Elijah has such a good example in his Daddy. Without even trying Dustin is teaching him how to be a good and thoughtful person. I love my boys!

Missing Teeth!

Elijah lost his second tooth on Sunday night while brushing his teeth! This tooth also had the adult tooth broken through the gums, and ready to move into place. Elijah's teeth are over achievers! Luckily, even at last minute notice on a Sunday the tooth fairy was prepared and ready to give Elijah the shiny gold dollar for his tooth. Elijah was very excited to find it under his pillow Monday morning! He added it to his piggy bank and informed us he is saving up for an Octonauts toy.

Halloween in Lake Villa

The kids and I went down to Lake Villa and spent Halloween with the Tuggles and "that Allen." Allen was kind enough to take all of theses pictures for us. "That Allen" did a great job!

Great Grandma Charlesworth dressed up as a clown for the Trunk or Treat. She looked adorable, but my kids were too afraid to go near for about 20 minutes! lol

All three of my kids were unsure about all of the people at the party. They spent the first part of the party cuddling on Grandma and Grandpa. But by the trick or treating they were doing better.

Emme enjoyed playing some of the games

Elijah was very excited about the trick or treating...

as was Gideon! He wouldn't even let me help him carry his bucket when it got to heavy for him. He just dragged/pushed it back to Grandpa's door.

Two Batmans and a Tangled Princess!

Gideon loved dumping his candy bucket all over his body, just like McScrooge and his money, and then putting back in the bucket and repeating over and over again! I think all three kids were overwhelmed by all of the candy. They don't get very many sweets usually, so they have been really good about not eating all of their buckets. I have to remind them that they have the candy! I think we will have this candy until Christmas again this year.

Gideon at 18 Months

I took Gideon to the doctor yesterday for his 18 month appointment. Gideon is now 36 in tall (36%) and he weighs 23lbs (37%). And big surprise he is following his brother lead, and he has a giant head! Lol We know his head has to be that big inorder to contain all of his smarts! The Giderman is doing a lot better after how crazy sick he was last week. His eyes are no longer infected and his fever is gone. He does still have a lot of fluid in his ears though. They aren't infected yet, but the doctor said to be prepared because they will probably become infected quickly. Which sucks because that also increases his risk of having another seizure from a fever spike. Hopefully the fluid will go away and we can have a few weeks of everyone healthy.

Nursery

Today was Gideon's first day in nursery!

He had a great time. He got to color, eat a snack, sing a song and play with other kids!
Thankfully, Gideon did not come out of nursery looking like this!

Gideon is 18 Months Old

Gideon is 18 months old today! Gideon is a silly little guy. He loves Mickey Mouse and he loves to do the Hot Dog Dance with his stuffed Mickey. Gideon is still a very happy little dude, but he does have a bit of a temper that comes out when he is tired or hungry. He loves to initiate wrestling matches with his brother and sister. He says a few words now, and he definitely has figured out how to make you understand his wants and demands. My favorite saying that he has is when he says "I so sad," when he is crying or fussing. It is hilarious! I am excited for Gideon to get to start nursery at church this coming Sunday. We love having Gideon in our family. Since the day he was born, he has been a joy and a blessing! We love our little Giderman.
