Merry Christmas

We celebrated our Christmas early this year. Dustin and I had alot of fun watching Eli open his present.

Eli loves his new toy, and he has been playing with it all weekend. It is great to watch him stand at his toy and walk around it so he can push all of the buttons.

Tinkle Time

Last night Eli escaped while I was changing his diaper. He super crawled into the kitchen to get to his walker lion. He crawled up on it, grinned at me and then he peed. He peed all over his lion, his feet and the floor. It was a huge mess. It was pretty funny though, frustrating, but funny.

Eli's 10 Month Check-up

Eli had his 10 month check up last week. He now weighs 17lbs 12oz and he is 28in long. Eli would definately be described as a string bean, he is very long and lean. Eli has 5 full teeth now and then he has two teeth that have broken through his gums and are on their way in. He stands by himself now and he can take a couple steps at a time without holding onto anything. He talks all the time, and he loves to sing and dance. His favorite treats are cheerios (the fruit flavored ones) and yogurt melts.

Bib Wars

Sorry the video is sideways, but we forgot that you can't turn it once it has been recorded. I wanted to post it anyway though because Elijah's face is hilarious. Eli has figured out that he no longer has to wear everything we put on him. Silly kid, he thinks he has options! LOL

Gearing up for Eli's First Christmas

Eli got to meet Santa at our ward Christmas party last night. As you can tell from his face, Eli was not impressed and did not want to tell Santa what he wanted for Christmas. Dustin and I put a good word in for him though.
Eli loves the Christmas tree! All day he points at and he says "sha-shaw," which Dustin and I assume means Christmas tree in Eli talk. Right after I took this picture Eli ate one of the eyes off of the ornament he is playing with. So yeah, now the ballerina that I have had since I was four needs an eye patch. Eli is a goober.

Peek-a-Boo

This morning Eli dumped out his bucket and used it to play peek-a-boo with me. He has always liked to play peek-a-boo where I do the hiding, but recently he has figured out that he can hide himself and surprise me. It is pretty funny to watch him because he uses all kinds of things to try to hide himself now.

Eli the Monster

All day I have been trying to get a nice picture of Eli, and all day it has been impossible to get one. Every time I get the camera ready Eli attacks me, so these are the only pictures I could get. Oh, the picture where Eli has the maroon fabric in his mouth, yeah, that is my shirt. He is a monster!

Eli Walking

Recently Eli had started using our laundry basket to help him walk around. So, Dustin and I decided that we should get him a real walker. We got him this lion one, and he has a good time with it. Sometimes it goes a little faster than he can keep up with. LOL

Fun With Buttons

Eli loves playing with anything that has buttons. He especially loves to try to play with the computer while Dustin and I are on it. It is really annoying because he usually only hits the on/off buttons or the exit buttons. So, Dustin pulled out our old keyboard for him to play with. He loves having his very own keyboard now.

Harper's Ferry

Eli and I at the Armory Fire House (aka John Brown's Fort) Dustin and I at Jefferson's Rock Dustin and I at St. John's Episcipal Church Ruins of the St. John Episcipal Church Lily, Brian and Eli This Saturday we met Dustin's parents in Harper's Ferry, WV. We walked around the town and learned about John Brown and all of the Civil War events that took place there. We had a great time visiting with each other. If you get a chance, everyone should look up the history of this little town that has been around since before the Revolutionary War. Chosen by George Washington as the location for the 2nd US Armory, visited and described by Thomas Jefferson (Jefferson's Rock is the spot he stood to look out over the town), and the spot of John Brown's failed Slave Revolution a year before the Civil War.

Cold Days!

Yesterday morning Eli and I walked to visit Dustin in his office. It has been snowing on and off here for the last few days, and this morning was no exemption. So, being the great mom that I am, I wanted to make sure that Eli stayed warm. My sister Erin sent him this awesome winter coat, but it is about two sizes too big right now (no worries though Erin I am sure it will fit perfect by December.) It is the warmest coat he has though so I put it on him. It was hilarious! He cried and cried while I put it on him and then when he realized that he couldn't even put his arms down, let alone move them, he screamed. Once I had adjusted the straps on his stroller (to accommodate the extra fluff and puff) he resigned himself to stare at me with the above expression. It reminded me of the little brother in the snow suit on the movie A Christmas Story. He was not a happy kid at all. He didn't want me to hold him or anything for a good ten minutes or so after I let him out. I guess he was punishing me for making him wear his coat. He didn't get a cold though!!

Trunk or Treat!!!

Eli's all dressed up for "Trunk Or Treating" at the church! Eli took over handing out the candy--he was VERY stingy! Eli realized how much he liked candy, and began to steal from the bowl! Eventually he wouldn't allow anyone to have any candy, and just kept it for himself! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYBODY!!!

The Monster at the End of This Book

The Monster at the End of This Book is Elijah's new favorite book. He reads it all the time, even by himself. I am so proud that he likes Grover, he was always my favorite Sesame Street character too.

Monster Eli!

Eli makes this face all the time now. I call him my little monster because he pairs the face with growls and snorts. Too funny!

Outhouse in West Virginia

We found this outhouse on our drive last weekend. Check out the bullet holes in the door! Terrifying! Luckily the bullet holes did not go all the way through the door, because this was the only bathroom for miles! Only in WV would you see something like this.

Fall in West Virginia

Fall is definitely here in West Virginia! Since I didn't have to work this Saturday and it was such a beautiful day Liz, Eli, and I went for a drive up into the mountains. Liz wanted to see a bear, so we headed towards "Bear Haven"! Unfortunately we didn't' see any bears. It was still a great drive on a beautiful fall day.

Little Troublemaker!

Elijah was very busy getting into trouble this afternoon!

Hinkle Glass

My parents took Eli and I to Hinkle Glass on Monday. Hinkle Glass is a family owned company where they hand blow all kinds of beautiful glass. We got to watch a demonstration of them making a glass vase. It was fascinating, and we loved watching the guys work. All three of the guys that work there have been blowing glass for anywhere between twenty five years and thirty years. Glass blowing is truly an art.

Shooting fun with Grandma and Grandpa

My parents came to visit with us this weekend and the guys wanted to go shooting up on Rich mountain. My Mom entertained Eli while we shot\ by feeding him frosted animal crackers. Grandma spoils Eli rotten! LOL He loves grandma and animal cookies now! We all had a good time.

Fall Time

Well, Fall has officially arrived here in Elkins, West Virginia. We realized the other day that Eli had no Fall/Winter clothes. So we went to the store and got him this fun hat and jacket.

Crawling!!

Well, after a month of "GI Joeing" it around Eli has finally decided to start crawling everywhere. We took this video of him in the hallway outside our apartment.

Bath Time

Eli started taking big boy baths about a month ago. He is so funny to watch, he swims around like a little frog. I took some video of him swimming around in the tub, but obviously there is a little bit of baby nakedness, so it won't let me post it. LAME! So, I guess these pictures will have to do.

True Love?

Alright, so Eli is in love with the vacuum! He loves to talk to it and touch it. It is so funny because he will leave the living room and go in his room (where we keep the vacuum) all by himself and find the vacuum. This morning he went and found it first thing and he played with it for about a half hour, which is a really long time for a little guy.

Two Year Anniversary

It is hard to believe that two years ago today Dustin and I were starting out our new life together. It feels like I have always had Dustin in my life, I know that we were meant to be together. I feel incredibly blessed to have Dustin as my husband, I thank Heavenly Father for him every single day. Dustin is a true ray of sunshine. He literally brightens my life just by being in it. He makes me happier than I have ever been. Dustin is an incredible Dad to Eli and I am so glad that Eli will grow up with him as a role model.

Fun at Nana and Pop-pop's

This last weekend we were able to visit with Dustin's parents in PA. They took us to a really pretty park and we got to feed some ducks. Dustin was excitd to get to watch the BYU game that was on Saturday. And Nana was nice enough to watch Eli while Dustin and I went out just the two of us. We had a great time visiting with them.
