Trying to Crawl
The last few weeks Gideon has decided that the only way he wants to lay is on his tummy. He has also realized that if he wants to keep up with his kids, he needs to be able to move. All day he lays in what I call his "surfing" position. He lifts his head and arms and then just kicks and kicks his little legs. It is really funny to watch! He has figured out how to roll and how to spin. So, he doesn't stay in one spot anymore. I will lay him down and then walk away for just a few minutes and when I turn back around he is several feet from where I left him. I am both excited and not so excited about Gideon crawling. But I know it will make him, Elijah and Emme very happy!
Elijah loves to sit across from Gideon and try to get him to come to him
Gideon is very happy and determined

Brotherly Love
Elijah has always loved sitting and holding Gideon. But, over the last week or so Elijah has been asking to hold Gideon while standing. This is a scary thing for me. It is not Elijah that concerns me, because I know that he would be very careful with Gideon. What concerns me is the lack of a size difference between the two of them. Elijah weighs 30lbs and Gideon 15lbs. As you can see from Gideon's face in the picture, he loves being held by Elijah. I think Elijah underestimated how big Gideon really is! Once I took the picture Elijah quickly told me to take Gideon back!

Camping at Bay Shore Park
Dustin decided that we needed to go camping this weekend. So, we went camping at Bay Shore Park. Everyone had a great time.
Elijah and Emme took turns digging holes and throwing dirt around, while Gideon supervised
While Dustin and the kids went to pay for the site, Gideon and I started a fire. Dustin was way surprised and way impressed. I told him, just because I am an indoor girl who hates camping, does not mean that I don't know how to camp. And I only needed one match!
First time wearing sweatshirts this seaaon
Gideon knew he was adorable in his bear cub sweatshirt and he told me all about it! He made me giggle and giggle!

Chillin' by the fire
Dustin made us yummy food! We had hot dogs for dinner, s'mores for a treat and cheesy eggs for breakfast.

"Pretty Room Emme"
The last few months Erin and I have been working on making Emme's room really pretty for her. Emme loves it. The other night I was putting her to bed and she flew her arms up in the air and said "pretty room Emme. Pretty butterfries, pretty bed, pretty animals!" This is Emme's pretty room...

*I am still working on the boys room. Hopefully it will be done in a few weeks*

Johnny Jump-Up
Okay, so obviously this is technically a Jenny Jump-Up, but since Gideon is using it now, we are pretending it is a Johnny Jump-Up. Thankfully, Gideon doesn't seem to mind using pink things. Gideon really seemed to enjoy the Jump-Up. He smiled the whole time he was in it. He hasn't figured out that he can jump in it yet, but he is really good at spinning around in it. Oh, and he is really good at slobbering all over it!

4 Months
Gideon will be 4 months old on the 16th. Gideon continues to be a great sleeper, and he and Elijah really seem to be enjoying sharing a room. Elijah tells me every night not to worry about Gideon, he will look out for him and make sure he is okay. Gideon is a great eater, and continues to be our biggest baby. He loves watching Emme and Elijah do everything and he insists on being held facing out. Gideon can roll both from his belly to back and from his back to his belly. He only does it when he is really mad though. Gideon has started scooting and spinning. He can actually move himself pretty well, and it is hilarious to see where he takes himself. Gideon still is an amazingly content and happy baby. He always has a smile on his face! Gideon brightens everyday!

Naps
Now that Gideon has decided to be a belly sleeper, he will not nap in his swing. So, that means that he has to nap on the living room floor when Elijah and Emme are upstairs playing in the boys' room. Thank goodness Andrea made a comfy quilt for Gideon that he can nap on! He LOVES his quilt, he even prefers it to his "magic carpet."

Brothers
I told Elijah that the more tummy time Gideon gets, the sooner he will crawl. Elijah is very excited for Gideon to crawl. So now, Elijah is very excited about helping to keep Gideon happy and entertained during tummy time!
You can't tell in the pictures, but the whole time the boys were playing, Gideon had the biggest grin on his face! Gideon really is the happiest baby, and he LOVES his brother!

Swimsuits and Cover-Ups
This morning, I took a picture of all three kids in the bath together. It is an adorable picture because amazingly I got all three kids to smile at the same time. I thought about posting the picture on our blog, but decided that it was a little too revealing for two of my kids. Later tonight I told Dustin about the picture, and about how bummed I was that I couldn't post it. This was his solution...

Tummy Time - Bonding Time
Emme has been helping Gideon with his tummy time...
they both have been enjoying the bonding time...
for a little while anyway...
until Emme smashes Gideon's face into the blanket!

Sleeping Baby
I have been saying for weeks now that I need to move Gideon into his crib in Elijah's room. But I just haven't yet. It is hard for me to let my babies go! It finally reached the point the other day though, that I decided that I want to have my room back. So today, I made the switch. And so far so good! Elijah and Gideon sucessfully took a nap together! Yay! Oh, and Gideon has apparently decided that he is a belly sleeper! It scares me to death that he wants to do that. He has slept on his side from moment one, and I guess it was only a matter of time before he just rolled right over. I can't blame him though, belly sleeping is the most comfortable!

Summer Camps
Our ward is doing a 3 day summer camp this week. Each day the camp is 2 hours long. I have to admit that I have been looking forward to this camp. Today was the first day of camp, and Elijah and I were pretty excited when I dropped him off. Well, my excitement changed to sadness and anxiety as soon as I reached the car. I missed my Elijah during those hours! I couldn't wait to pick him up. Elijah had a great time, he didn't miss me at all. He did say that he missed Gideon though. LOL I think 4K is going to be harder for me than I originally thought! I guess this summer camp is good practice for me and also a good reminder for me about how much I love my little guy.
