The Magic Carpet

Last week I unpacked Elijah's old "Magic Carpet" for Embry. Elijah loved playing on it as a baby and still enjoys the animals on it and Embry is quite fascinated with it as well. It truly is a "Magic Carpet."

Elijah and Embry

Eijah is 2 1/2 Years Old

Elijah had his 2 1/2 year old check-up today. He is 37in tall and he weighs 26.5lbs. Elijah is quite the talker these days, and both Dustin and I can understand him. Even other people can understand about 90% of what he says now. He loves to have books read to him and his favorites right now are The Paperbag Princess and The Color Kittens. Elijah likes to take books to bed with him at night, and he usually ends falling asleep with open books all over his body. He loves his Toy Story and M. Potato Head toys. Elijah definately has his terrible two year old moments, but overall he is a GREAT kid, and Dustin and I know how easy we have it. We are very proud of the little man he has grown it.

Fun at the park

Bath Time

Elijah loves sharing his baths with Embry. He is a great big brother and he loves to help me bath her. Emme loves her baths too, and she especially loves to have her hair washed.

Four Weeks Old!

Embry was four weeks old on Sunday. She had a doctors appointment on Monday and she now weighs 9lbs 12oz and is 22in long. Embry is a very happy and content baby. She is a great sleeper and is still only waking up twice at night to eat. She is awake alot more during the day now, which is really fun. She always has a smile for Elijah. She tries to giggle, but it really just sounds like a funny wheez. She loves to be held sitting up so she can look around, and she enjoys tummy time. It is hard to believe that Emme has only been with us for such a short time. It feels like she has always been a part of our family. We feel very blessed to have her with us.

Elijah at 2 weeks old Emme at 2 weeks old It is funny when Emme was first born I thought she looked just like Elijah as a newborn. But after about two weeks, I think they already look very different from each other. I think the biggest difference is that Emme is quite a bit darker than Eli was and still is. Also Elijah was full of smiles as a newborn, and Emme has more of a permanant scowl. She does smile and she is a very happy baby, but she does scowl 90% of the time. Dustin and I haven't been able to decide which one of us she looks the most like, but we both agree that she is quite the combination. Both she and Eli are combinations, but I think that they got opposite features.

Embry and Elijah

Embry is now 20 days old! Crazy! She weighs 8lbs. 15oz already and she is doing really great. I thought that Elijah was the most easy going baby ever, but I think that Embry might be even more so than he was. She sleeps most of the time still, but the small amounts of time she is awake she is full of smiles and she is very content. She only wakes up twice a night to eat, which is awesome. She loves her baths, even with Elijah "helping" to wash her. Elijah loves having Emme share his baths with him! She is very good and patient with Elijah, and very rarely gets upset at his "loves." Elijah is a great big brother. He has adjusted very well to having Emme around. He is a great helper and is always willing to get whatever Emme needs to make her happy. He has been sleeping in his big boy bed for a few weeks now, and he stays in there all night and does not usually fight going to bed. The potty training had slowed down the last few weeks since Emme has joined us, but we are getting back into the groove of it, and Elijah is doing well with it.
