My Not So Little Gideon

Gideon is growing into such a big boy! He has been sleeping in his big boy bed for a few weeks, and he loves his Mickey Mouse sheets! He says a few more words and everyday he surprises us with more. Gideon loves anything Mickey Mouse and to play Octonauts with his big brother. I think Gideon is understanding a little bit better that he is going to be a big brother in a few weeks. He likes to lift up my shirt and pat and kiss Baby Evelyn. Gideon is still very much a Mama's boy, but he has gotten a lot better. Gideon is doing well in nursery despite a set back when Emme moved up to Sunbeams. He loves watching Emme at her dance class and he yells her name and waves at her from the window. His favorite parts of the day are when Elijah comes home and when Dada comes home. Gideon has a bit of a temper lately, but it is more funny than intimidating. Lol He is still a very happy little guy and it has been fun watching him grow the last few months.

Happy 6th Birthday Elijah!

It is incredible to think that this little guy is already 6! It has been great fun to watch him grow and change over the last few years. He is a smart, funny, caring boy who has always acted wise beyond his years. We love you Elijah! Happy Birthday!

Elijah wanted a Sea Life themed birthday this year to go along with his new pet crab. Everyone got to color and make their own birthday headband.

Gideon and Emme were very proud of their headbands!

Emme is all Bundled Up!

Emme asked if she could go to the bus stop with Daddy today to get "Lijah." And because it wasn't -45 degrees outside,I got her bundled up and off they went. She was hilarious to get dressed. She fell over in the living room and just rolled from side to side saying "I can't get up, I can't get up" followed by "how am I supposed to bend in this stuff, ugh!" As difficult as Emme can be at times, it is moments like these that remind me how very, very grateful I am to have her as mine. My life would be far less joyful and a heck of a lot less exciting without her.

Cinderella

Emme made a Cinderella the other day. She explained to me that the blue lines are Cinderella's veins. The rest of the lines and dashes all over her body are "wounds from her getting attacked by a lion."

Bizarre Foods and Deep Thoughts

Elijah loves the show Bizarre Foods on the travel channel. He and Emme sit there and freak out about everything that the host Andrew eats. We were watching a particularly gross episode where Andrew was eating some kind of animal brain. I noticed that Elijah was watching with a very serious look on his face. I asked him if he was okay or if he needed for me to change the channel. He told me "Mom, I don't think I could eat an animal's brain. I mean, that is where their thoughts and feelings are. That is their mind. That is what helps make them alive and who they are."
Elijah's sunday school teacher stopped me yesterday and told me that she loves having Elijah in her class. She said that she can tell that he has a very old soul in his tiny little 5 year old body. Apparently, he participates a lot in class and she said that she is always amazed by his answers.
Elijah never ceases to amaze me with the things that he says and with the stuff that he thinks about.
