Princess Emme

Emme received a package in the mail today, and when she opened the box she found a beautiful dress inside. She insisted on putting it on immediately. Once it was on she spun around and informed Elijah and I that she was now "Princess Emme." Thank you Auntie N for making Emme a princess!

Ladies' Man

Elijah has always been a bit of a ladies' man. All the little girls his age want to sit by him in Primary. When we pick him up at the end of class they all wave and give sideways smiles and say "bye Elijah." One little girl even always tells him how much she is going to miss him until next Sunday! The little girls on the bus are the same way! Well, this morning he showed that he can work his charms on older girls as well.
An SUV full of college girls parked in front of our house while we were walking to the bus stop. As we walked by them I said good morning. They all excitedly said good morning back. So, Elijah says "good morning ladies." Well, that was it they were all oos and ahhs then. "oh how cute. Little man going to school! I hope you have the best day! So adorable!" They talked to Elijah and about Elijah until they disappeared into their apartment. Once they were gone, Elijah just turned and started walking again with a huge grin on his face! Too funny!I definately feel concerned about his teenage years!

Tuggle Weekend

My parents came up to visit us this weekend. They took the kids to their favorite places: "the bounce house and the chocolate fountain." Then they watched all three kids so that Dustin and I could go out for dinner. Thanks for a great weekend Grandma and Grandpa Tuggle.

Happy 5 Months Gideon

You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy when skies are gray.
You'll never know, dear, how much I love you.
Please don't take my sunshine away.

Happy Anniversary!

Happy 6 year anniversary! The picture above pretty much sums up the past 6 years. These three little people have taken Dustin and I on an incredible journey and they have been the highlights of our lives so far. I knew the first time Dustin hugged me at the Black Hawks game, that I wanted to be with him. And I was going to make it happen, even if I had to "manipulate" him into it! LOL Seriously though, when Dustin hugged me, I was filled the the warmest most amazing feeling of peace, and I knew I wanted to feel that way forever. Thank you Dustin for giving me everything that I have ever needed and wanted! Thank you for our kids, and for being my Funshine!

Happy Day Elijah

This week Emme has had a time with Elijah leaving for school. Everyday when he gets on the bus, right after the door close, she turns to me and says "I miss Lijah already. Miss him lots mama." It is quite pathetic and sad. So. I decided that Miss Emmers and I needed to do something fun while Elijah was gone. We decided to make a funfetti cake with white chocolate raspberry frosting.  Emme was very excited!

Any time Emme feels happy or excited she says "happy day, happy day!" This cake she called "Lijah's happy day, happy day cake."

Emme was excited for the purple frosting

Emme decorated the cake with sprinkles
Elijah loved the cake, and even allowed Emme to sing her "happy day" song to him before he ate it. He thanked Emme over and over for making him a yummy cake. To which Emme replied "No problem!"

Super Cool!

All week Elijah has been asking me if he could wear his new long sleeved shirt to school. Today it is finally going to be cool enough. I have never seen a kid so excited for it to be cool outside! He wanted me to take a picture of him in his new "cool" shirt. I love that this kid loves clothes, and I am grateful that he has fabulous taste!

The Not So Exciting Adventures in Bus Riding Part 3

Thankfully this morning was alot calmer than yesterday. I did make the acquaintance of two very interesting ladies. Once, I realized that they were yelling friendly/helpful things at me from a few streets down, and I recovered from their somewhat surprising appearances, they were really nice and quite helpful. LOL

Embry did decide to throw a tantrum so that I would let her wear her snow boots in the 80 degree weather. I was not very excited about the idea, especially since she didn't have socks on. Ewwww! But she was determined and very happy with the outfit she had created...

Plus, let's face it she looks beautiful in anything she wears, Her little personality just shines out of her eyes!

Black Eyes and Bruises

Last night Elijah learned the life lesson: don't run with a blanket covering your head. He ran full speed into the edge of the desk, and literally knocked himself flat on his back. He now has a bruise across the bridge of his nose, two small black eyes and a huge bruise across his cheek bone. The pictures do not do the injuries justice, they look about 5 times worse in person. Poor kid! Life's lessons are hard sometimes.

Adventures in Bus Riding Part 2

Getting Elijah off the bus this afternoon was a chaotic continuation of this morning. Emme, Gideon and I got to the bus stop about 5 minutes earlier than the time the mailer had listed as Elijah's drop off time. We all got excited when about a minute later a school bus pulled up in front of us and stopped. I went to the door expecting so see Elijah. Instead, the bus driver asked me if I had a child in the 4K at the Early Learning Center. I told her that I did and then I told her Elijah's name. She then told me that she didn't have our address or Elijah's name on her route list. So of course I started to freak out and immediately asked her if Elijah was on her bus, and she told me that he wasn't. I asked her what that meant, and where poor Elijah was. She informed me that I obviously had him. Then I got mad and told her there was no way that I had him, he was at school. She goes, "oh, you are picking him up from school? This is the afternoon pick-up bus." Jeez lady! Give me a heart attack why don't ya! Finally she drove away and thankfully a few minutes later Elijah's bus came, on the other side of the street of course. While I was manuevering the stroller and Emme across the street Elijah's bus driver thought it necessary to open her window and loudly inform me that she would be dropping him off on that side of the street and that I was on the wrong side! Really!? The morning bus driver had informed me that they only pick-up and drop off of the side of the street that I was patiently waiting on! Seriously, if Elijah wasn't so excited to ride the bus, I think for my own sanity I would drive him everyday!

Adventures in Bus Riding

Last week I drove Elijah to and from school. Part of the reason for that was because I never recieved his busing information, and partly because I wasn't ready for him to ride the bus yet. Saturday we finally recieved his busing information in the mail, so today he gets to ride the bus. So far we are off to a somewhat embarrassing start.
The mailer said that the bus would pick Elijah up at the end of our sreet at 8:30. So, being the worrier that I am I had us outside ready to walk down to the bus stop at 8:23. When we walked out of the garage the bus was passing our street. So, I yelled "run Elijah, run!" And he did! LOL Thankfully, the bus driver saw Elijah and quickly slammed on the brakes. Elijah ran his little heart out while I ran with poor Gideon shaking on my hip, spitting up all over me and Emme dragging behind me. We made it to the road and I saw a city bus coming, and I yelled to Elijah to stop. The city bus stopped and waved us in front of him, so then I yelled to Elijah to keep running. He ran all the way to the bus and started to get on. But, I wasn't sure it was the right bus so I got a little worried because she started to close the door. I caught the door and was like "is this the 4K bus to the Early Learning Center?" Thankfully it was the right bus. I told Elijah bye and kissed him and when he turned around to climb the stairs again there were four little girls at the top waiting for him. He made it up, and they were all like "Hi Elijah, sit here by me." Too funny! The door closed and the bus left, and I realized that this whole time the city bus had been waiting for us. I quickly waved to him to not wait for us, and as he drove by everyone on the bus was staring and smiling at us. How embarrassing! Hopefully tomorrow we will do better!

Elijah's First Day of 4K

Today was Elijah's first day of school. Elijah was very excited and he did really well. He came home happy and he said that he was excited to go back tomorrow! I definately think that school has been an easier transition for him than for his dad and I.
Emme was pretty sad when she realized that Elijah was going to school without her. Thankfully Daddy was home today to help distract her, and she decided she was okay without Elijah for a little while.
