Toy Story 3

On Saturday Dustin and I took Elijah to see the new Toy Story movie. Elijah loves Toy Story, so he was thrilled to go see the new movie. This was Eli's first time seeing a movie since he has been old enough to remember. We got Elijah the little kiddie combo box as a snack to help keep him occupied during the movie. It came with a small Icee, popcorn and a candy treat. Elijah sat and sipped his Icee the whole movie, but he was so into the movie that he did not even eat the popcorn or the candy. He was so great during the movie, Dustin and I had a great time just watching him enjoy the show! I can't wait for the next Disney movie to come out so we can take him to see that one too.

Grandma and Grandpa Tuggle

Last week Elijah and I went down to my parents house for a week. I did not have my camera with me, so I don't have a lot of pictures from our week there, but Erin was able to email me these pictures from the park. Grandma, Grandpa and I took Eli to the playground at the school by their house. It was kind of fun because it is the school that I went to from 3rd grade to 5th grade. They certainly did not have such a fancy playground when I went there, they remodeled the jungle gym a few years ago and made it really nice. The whole jungle gym is connected by ramps instead of stairs, so Elijah had a great time running from slide to slide without any help getting up on tall stairs. It was funny because Elijah started calling himself Peter Pan and me Captain Hook while he was running on the jungle gym. I have no idea where that came from. He has only read Peter Pan once or twice. Kind of funny! Elijah had several firsts while we were there visiting. Grandma and Grandpa got Elijah his first tricycle. He loves it! It really is the coolest tricycle I have ever seen. It has a high handle that can attach to the back of it so that an adult can walk with the trike and steer it while the kid can still pedal it. Elijah and Grandpa went on lots of walks together using the trike. Elijah also had his first real ice cream cone. He has had ice cream in the little cup before, but Grandma and Grandpa bought him one of those little baby cones. I was worried that he would not know how to eat the cone, but he dove right in and did an awesome job. He did not even make a mess on his shirt or anything! Also Elijah decided to show us that he can count to 10! I asked him where he learned to count to 10 and he told me he learned from Sesame Street. Got to love PBS!

Auntie Erin

Elijah loved all of the time that he got to spend with "Auntie N" this last week. She is the greatest! She got up with him every morning at 5:00 (he gets up early just so he can go to the living room to see her) all 7 days that I was there, so that I could sleep in. Erin is always willing to drive the two and a half hours to our house to watch Eli for Dustin and I so we can go out. She is the greatest, and I have no idea what I would do without her. THANKS ERIN! We love you!

Grandpa and the Icee

This past week Elijah and I stayed with my parents while Dustin went to Texas to visit his family. Elijah learned at a very young age that grandma, grandpa and Auntie Erin are softies and will get him just about anything he wants. And like any two and a half year old he knows how to take advantage of them. My Dad needed to run some errands one day while we were there visiting and he took Elijah with him for some Eli/Grandpa bonding time. They went to Home Depot and Elijah got to ride in the fun car shaped cart and then they went to Wal-Mart. I guess when they got to Wal-Mart, Elijah told Grandpa a few times, "I like Icees Tampa (this is what Elijah calls Grandpa)." So, of course Grandpa bought each of them a large Icee. This isn't really funny unless you know the back story about Elijah, Icees and myself. Almost everytime Eli and I go to Wal-Mart he and I share a medium Icee. Elijah is never overly happy about sharing the Icee with me, but he puts up with it because he has to. He does try his best every time though, to convince me that he needs to have his own "big" Icee. So I think it is hilarious that he took advantage of Tampa to get not only his own Icee but a large Icee at that.

My Awesome Husband!

The last few years I have been collecting nativities. I have several of the big nativities that have all of the pieces with the stable and everything, and then I have several of the small nativites that are just the "holy family." A couple of months ago I saw this nativity in a store by our house and I mentioned it to Dustin. Ever since then I have found "reasons" to go into that store to make sure that they still had it. Well, last week Dustin bought it for me! I love it! It is so pretty that I have decided that I am going to leave it out all year. I figure that since it is not really a traditional nativity, it is more of just a pretty religious piece, I can get away with it. So yeah, I put it on the mantle of my fireplace.

8 Months!

Well, I am officially 8 months pregnant this week! It is amazing how fast this pregnancy has gone by. I felt like I was pregnant forever with Elijah, and this one seems like I should still only be a few months along. I feel like I am already mostly prepared for the baby to come though. It is nice that I already have all of the big important stuff to reuse from Elijah. Really the only things I have had to buy have been clothes, and well, who doesn't like buying little girl clothes! LOL Between my own shopping, and Erin and my parents going shopping, this little girl has enough adorable clothes to get her through the first six months! Poor Elijah, his closet has been taken over by frilly pink and purple clothes. He doesn't seem to mind though, he can already appreciate "pretty" things! I feel very blessed at how smoothly this pregnancy has gone for me. I really have no complaints. This baby really was given to me at a time when I needed her the most. I was having a pretty tough time and was quite depressed when I got pregnant with her, and I know that she has helped me become a happier person already. There is a part of me though that I know will not fully relax and enjoy her until I can hold her in my arms. Luckily I will be able to do that in just a few short weeks!

Dancing Elijah

Ever since Elijah was a little baby he has not liked it when people sang around him. Dustin and I used to sing him to sleep on car trips or when he had a hard time falling asleep, so I think that he has always associated singing with goign to sleep. But recently that has all changed. He has turned into a singing and dancing maniac. He loves to sing in the car and when he is in the bath tub. He even sings along to songs that he recognizes when we are out shopping. He even has a headband that I bought for the baby that he calls his "bowtie," that he has to wear when he dances (that is the yellow bow around his neck in the videos.) One of his favorite songs to dance to right now is "Use Somebody" by the Kings of Leon, which is the song that he is dancing to in the video. His favorite songs to sing are "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star","I am Like a Star" and "Jesus Wants me for a Sunbeam." He has such a pretty little voice. I love to hear him singing in his room while he is playing, or when he comes in the kitchen and sings and dances for us while we make dinner. Too cute!
