Tough Kid

Elijah hasn't been feeling well for a few days. Yesterday, he had gooey swollen eyes. We thought that he had pink eye, so Dustin took him to the doctor this morning. Poor Elijah has a serious ear infection and some kind of viral eye irritation. The doctor said he was amazed Elijah wasn't screaming his head off nonstop with as much pain as he must be in. It is crazy though, he hasn't really complained at all. The other day he mentioned that he wanted his ear cleaned because he felt like there was water in it, I cleaned it, and he said it felt fine afterwards. Elijah is a tough kid! He is on a strong antibiotic now, and the doctor said in a day or so he should be fine. 

Ready For Fall

Fall has hit Wisconsin. The average temperature in the morning has been in the low 50s.

 So, our mornings now include getting bundled up in jackets...

 and a hat for Gideon.

Happy 7th Anniversary!

I believe that you don't get to choose who you love, but that you do get to choose who you like. About eight years ago, I fell in love with Dustin and as an awesome bonus, I liked him too. Seven years later, I still truly like Dustin. I like spending time with him. I like cuddling with him on the couch, even if it is while he is watching football. (ugh) I like talking to him/at him in bed at night before we fall asleep. I look forward to him calling or texting me during the day. I love when he comes home from work. I love that the kids love when he comes home from work. 

Happy anniversary Dustin! Thank you for the last seven years, together we have had a truly awesome adventure!

Elijah's First Day of Kindergarten

Today was Elijah's first day of all day kindergarten. He was so excited! 

He felt very cool and grown-up because he got to take his own lunch!

I was very proud of how brave Elijah was when he got on the bus. I was proud of myself too, I didn't cry! Not even when Gideon had a serious break down. Poor Gideon, he is going to really miss his "Lijah."

First Lost Tooth

Elijah lost his very first tooth this morning! Elijah is very excited to put his tooth under his pillow for the tooth fairy tonight.
