Only 19 Days!
I only have 19 days left until Gideon is here! At my last doctor appointment on Monday, the doctor said that everything looks like it is right on track. Thankfully, the baby seems to have slowed in his growth, and she was saying that he will more than likely be in between the weights of Elijah and Emme. Which is a huge relief for me because I don't think I could handle one bigger than Emme was. Elijah is very excited for "his" baby to come. He told me yesterday that he is glad Gideon is a boy because now he, daddy and Gideon will outnumber the girls, "so they will be in charge."

Little Miss Chatty Pants!
Over the last few months, Dustin and I had started to get a little worried that Emme was not talking as much as Elijah did at the same age. I had heard that the first child always talks faster than the others, but it still bothered me. But thankfully, over the last two weeks or so Emme has become quite the chatty pants. All of a sudden she can say almost thirty words. I think she has been able to do it for a while now, and she was just choosing not to. LOL It is funny though because everything she says has a "b" sound as the first letter and it is all drenched in the somewhat nasal WI accent (Dustin is thrilled she sounds like me ;). She says "bo" for no and "bop" for stop and "banks you" for thank you. There are a few words that she says perfectly though, they are Target (her favorite store) and Rio (her favorite movie.) I love hearing her and Elijah have little conversations now. Elijah goes in and gets Emme from her bed every morning, and it is so funny to hear them talking to each other over the baby monitor. They really are sweet to each other 85% of the time! LOL It really seems like in the last month or so Emme changed from my little baby to a miniature toddler. She has become very independent. She wants to put her own shoes on and take them off herself. She insists on helping pick out her clothes and Elijah's and helping to put them on both herself and Elijah (he does not like her help with this). I think she is going to be a great big sister to Gideon, even though I don't think she understands that he is really coming.

36 Weeks!
Only 4 weeks left until Gideon arrives! I can't wait to not be pregnant anymore! LOL Not that this pregnancy has been bad at all, I am just tired and tired of being pregnant. A few weeks ago Gideon decided to drop head down, so the last little while has been pretty uncomfortable for me. It is an odd feeling to feel like the baby's head is between my legs! LOL I have already bought him several hats, because I don't think there is any way that he will not have a cone head for a while! LOL

Baby Emme?
None of us can really tell how excited Emme is about her new baby brother coming in a few weeks. She likes to smack my belly and yell "hi" to her baby. She did also say Gideon's name the other day, she said "Giddy," so that is promising. LOL But she definately makes it very obvious that she loves all of the new baby stuff. She has claimed the swing as hers, and she likes to climb into it and then have Elijah cover her up so she can pretend to be asleep. Hopefully she will be willing to share with her baby brother!

Grateful for Family
This week has been a good one for the kids and I. I was reminded once again how great my kids are! We went down to Illinois to visit my family for almost a week. I am so grateful that my kids are so good in the car. Seriously, the thought of being almost nine months pregnant and stuck in the car for 3 hours with a 4 year old and a potty training 19 month old, is very terrifying! LOL But they were both great on both the there and back trips. No stops, no tantrums and best yet no bickering between themselves. We jammed to the ipod! I love hearing both of them sing, especially Elijah because he really does know the words to the songs!
I am grateful that my parents are awesome grandparents and that Erin is the best Auntie "N" ever! My kids have no problem adjusting to my parents house. They are totally comfortable and confident there. This visit both of them even slept in a room by themselves. They were both fine with me not being in there with them, it was a little hard on me. LOL Emme kept on with the potty training and everything! Overall, I am grateful it was a good visit. I am grateful for the kids and the family that I have.

Diaper Rash Cream
Emme is obsessed with lotions and creams. If she sees a lotion bottle, or sees someone use lotion she HAS to have some. She will rub it into her hands and on her neck and belly. She even tries to rub it on mom and brother's bellies. The other day Elijah was complaining that his bum hurt, so I told him I would put some diaper rash cream on him. When I got to the bathroom Emme had the diaper rash cream open and she and Elijah were ready to take care of what needed to be done by themselves. Hilarious, but not cool. I told Emme that only Mama does diaper rash cream and that she needed to leave it alone. Then I put it up in the far corner of the counter where I thought it was out of her reach. But today Elijah called downstairs that Emme had gotten the cream again, and that she was putting it all over her face and hair. He was definately right. LOL Apparently Emme has figured out she can move around the stool in the bathroom to make it so she can reach anything she wants. So, I have now moved the diaper rash cream and all other ointments and creams out of the reach of little hands.
